ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: This retablo show Saint Leonard of Noblac with a man holding chains while the man's wife is praying to Saint Leonard. Not an easy retablo subject matter to find.

CONDITION: Very Good.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: An extremely rare depiction of San Juan. This retabol has wonderful vingettes showing the cause of his death. San Juan was the Vicar-General the Archdiocese of Prague. After hearing the confession of the Queen, the Bohemian King Wenceslaus IV demanded that San Juan relate what the queen had said in her confession. After refusing to do so, The king had San Juan tortured, then he was thrown off a bridge into the Moldau River where he drowned on 20 March 1393. It is reported that on the night of his death, seven stars hovered over the placed where he drowned.
